PROFESSIONAL AND STAFF SERVICES Our staff typically renders a minimum 50 to 80 person-hours of service for each traditional funeral. These services include the availability and work performed by our Funeral Directors and support staff on behalf of the Client. These services are provided on a 24-hour-per-day, seven-day-per-week basis. The Funeral Directors and support staff are available on all statutory holidays. We do not charge additional fees for work performed after regular business hours or on statutory holidays. The greatest cost in providing funeral services is directly due to the fact we, unlike most privately owned businesses, must be available at all times of the day and night. There is not one single day in a year when there are less than two staff members on-duty and on-call. Further, our firm provides a 24-hour-per-day emergency response service for the Coroner's Office. We are responsible for the transfer of all remains in our operating area. This means we respond to calls from: hospitals, nursing homes, the Ontario Provincial Police, Coroners, Doctors and Fire Departments. These services may also include: staffing, cleaning and maintaining our facility and grounds; maintaining our fleet of vehicles; staffing offices; and providing 24-hour-per-day, seven-day-per-week telephone coverage and support staff availability. Charges in this category may include the following:
FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT This fee is levied for the use of our facilities including: parking areas, areas open to the general public within our establishment; our conference room; the casket selection room and cremation urns display area. The provision of these facilities is a legal requirement in Ontario to enable our firm to operate as a funeral home licensed to provide services to the general public. Charges in this category may include:
AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT These fees are for the use of each vehicle on a single occasion. Charges is this category may include:
INITIAL TRANSFER OF REMAINS This fee is levied in all cases.
